Here is a continuation of the last video. I did not want to put too many video's in one post. I should have put parts 1, 2 & 3 in this post but you can see that this can be applied to what we do also.

Very informative about the use of the different viscosities of CA & accelerator but can be used on scales.

Yes, the use of the accelerator, cures it instantly. I could see tiny air bubbles coming up through the CA, so i know it absorbed in into the bakalite dust, when it stopped, I sprayed with accelerator, hard as a rock.

I'd posted this and had asked if anyone had tried it using horn but I hadn't thought about Bakelite. The guy showing the repair had said that it would work with 'some' plastics.

Roy.. Ive used baking soda and CA , to repair bone scales before , with very good results. Had to extend one that had deteriorated at the pivot end of the scale.

Finished up the scales last night.

And after being asked by a fellow member to do this, I decided I would leave most of the patina.
Cut the rust from the tail, and rubbed it with some Never Dull, to clean it up a bit , without removing too much patina. Then pinned it up with silver collars n brass rod.
