That's cool! You save money by wrenching on your own. I ride a Harley like several others on here & I don't discriminate about what kind of motorcycle you ride. We are all on two wheels & have to watch out for the morons on their cell phones mostly these days!

Attachment 208661except for the wheels it still looks the same but i'm looking a little older. 2006 Heritage classic. changed it from a 88 to a 95 a few yrs ago. I road it from West Tn to Daytonna Fla. the first year I got it . by the time I got there I was standing up. couldn't sit down. bought a Mustang seat and all's well.

My air filter was messed up at the time & I had a piece of tape over a hole to keep debris from getting into my motor. I was a factory certified Harley-Davidson service tech for many years.

some works in progress. This is the third modification to the farrier rasp razor, but the one i'm most happy with. The other one was one my mentor had cut and flat ground, a long time ago.

Good luck on making these a functional razor, I've had just fair luck making knives out of farrier rasps. I ended up having to quench in brine as the oil was too slow and wouldn't HT hard enough to skate a file.

Thanks. I did have it shaving sharp, but hadn't put hollows in at that stage so it was pretty hard to sharpen. Once I finish hollowing and polishing it this time, i'll find out how long the edge will stay. It's more an exercise in hollow grinding.
