Engraved Newcastle razor with two blades (don't know how we call them in english, in french we said "Rasoir papillon" :) )

I for one find this VERY INTERESTING! If your description matches what you have displayed with the two razors laying one on top of each other then I would 'presume' that you had two razors inside of the same scales.

I'm wondering How this would work and not cut someone holding the scales with a 'live edge inside' and apparently not 'bound or restricted from movement :shrug: :thinking:

I believe mycarver (Mark) has one of these razors and if I remember correctly the wedge was made of leather and actually held the other blade in place while the other is out.

Mine was actually in wood, but the holding is not that effective... :shrug:

It's an eye-catching piece anyway. :)

Is the top & the blade mount really Damascus steel?
Not that I have any reason to doubt your skills at all as they are exceptional Bill,
but those edges look router clean, like it could be a dip painted wood or something?

once again your skills amaze me that is very nice
but that base top still looks routed LOL
how did you join the rest to the base? is it bolted from the underside?
I see you even have offset the rest cutout so the A symetrical blade still sits upright also
it is all the little details that make the differences
