Latest haul from eBay. Updates to come! Attachment 169479
Just got done making some scales out of my favorite wood at the moment, Buckeye burl. They're for a Frederick Reynolds, 13/16ths hump back I've had sitting here for a lot longer than it should have been. I've been dying to get this completed and have a shave with it.
It's been a while.
Today I finished this: Yep, that's a lancet grind. A big grinning lancet grind. And as if that wasn't challenging enough, the tang was specified to be the same thickness as the middle step, so they had to seamlessly connect. This was the most challenging grinding I've done so far.

And then I hooked up my new forge fire and gave it a test run.
First I heat treated this:

Then I annealed this (I forge welded the stainless inserts last week:

And then I quickly hammered out 2 9/8+ blades.
EDIT: just in case you'd be wondering why I left the tang of the top one so lumpy: that's not laziness or ineptness. :) For that blade I have something in mind for which I need enough steel to work with (notches and filework)

I also did some more forge welding, but I am not going to show it because it is a special project and the prospective owner doesn't know what he is going to get. Finally I finished ebony scales for SRD's next blade. I now have many blanks in my 'annealed' box so next week is going to be 'steel week' where I'll spend the entire friday grinding and filing.
