I have several sets already from olds which I could use. But I may make new ones since this one, once it's done, will be almost like new.

You can see my ugly mug reflected.
I think I'm finished on the blade except for final polish on the aforementioned W&B The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor FBU but still more sanding and soaking on a set of scales. More on that later.
In between decided to clean up this non FBU The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor.

This looked like it might be a quick polish up but there was too much delamination and flaking away of the horn show side near the pivot pin.

So I decided to take her apart and give her a proper clean up. Good thing because there was a LOT of grungy grossness under the pivot.

The way some people care for their razors is just atrocious.
Did some fill with CA to build it up.

Waiting for it to cure thoroughly then to sand it down properly.
This should be a fun project. Took these chef's knives in for a restore from a customer who got them from his step-father. He is going to give them to his half sister.

Too bad this Freddie FBU is done because that sure would be a nice one to have in good condition. But when I say done I'm not exaggerating.

They definitely squeezed all and I mean all the juice out of that orange. But the scales were in surprisingly good condition for the shape of the blade so they will be donors for the W&B The Celebrated Hollow Ground FBU.

Can't wait for the soak to be done so I can get this one back together. I sold my last 2 FBU restores. I wasn't going to but the buyer really wanted them and they were going back to about 30 minutes south of where they were made 160-180 years ago so, it seemed like the right thing. Been missing that big ol' hollow ground chopper shave. Nothing quite like it for my taste.
Those nail sponges seem to do a great job on horn Paul. Think I will give em a go.
