Yup, my Ace hardware has a good selection, a 2 inch D ring works great.
If you need a shorter Chicago screw, just file or grind the screw or the backing side. Probably just touching them to a grinder or sanding belt will get you there.
You can also drill a hole in a paint stick, or stack of popsicle sicks, poke the screw through and file it down as needed.
