Here's a little job I just finished.. The horn was stained around the pivot pin pretty badly. I did a little work with a burr to drill it out (felt like a dentist) then spent a few days building up CA in the low spots. The collars cover up some of the damage at the pins. They were pretty chewed up.

The first side I made broke as I was taking it off the engravers block. Oops.
Apparently I need to make a second set with copper liners.
I would have liked to have gone sans collars but I was too chicken.
Here is the scrimshaw scales on my Guillermo Hope 14.

Shaun - that is ferkin' spectacular....gorgeous #14 as well...personally, I think you rocked those scales, totally love them....great job and some awesome work. In my opinion, if there should be a focus to your work, you seem to have a natural talent for not only the technical aspects of the scrimshaw, but also an eye for interesting design and execution....awesome.

Tom those are gonna look great! Maybe if they are too bright you pass them off as 'easter colors'.

Shaun, that design is just fantastic. Phrank summed up my feelings quite well, really natural talent just flows onto that bone buddy. Inspires a vintage kinda feel, to me, but warmer, if that makes sense.

And Tom, those are going to look great when you are done. Wish I had that kinda skill when I did scale revello models as a lad, let alone today with all these miles on my eyes..
