That was interesting; after the first 30 seconds of the video, I was waiting for the razor to disappear. :rofl2:
Gluing up some brush handle blanks. On the left is Bocote and Ebony from Geezer, and on the right is buffalo horn and pre ban elephant ivory.

I am over the top curious how you are going to like turning the horn. Standing by.
Not the first time Shawn. I've done some in the past, and it truly sucks. Haha. You have to be super careful that it doesn't tear out, which it is highly prone to do. I'm hoping this blank will be less brittle than the last time I turned some.

The last time I turned it I was turning with the grain. Like a rip cut on a table saw and I think that was the issue with the tear-out. As soon as it hit the end grain it wanted to tear along the grain lines. This time I'll be cuting across the grain which I'm hoping will be a better experience.
That makes perfect sense to me.
I would really like a custom horn and antler brush.
No...It's spoken-for, Shaun! :roflmao
I have elk and big horn sheep. When the days comes that someone turns it, it will be the Canadian wildlife brush.
