    I've just hit it with some Inox and I will leave it overnight. If that doesn't work I think it will be homebrew time. 50:50 mix ATF and acetone and let it sit in the bath for a day.

    I doubt those are plastic scales, but just in case they are acetone will dissolve them so be careful not to get any on the scales.

    No they are ebony. I will only drop the length of the blade in toe first, leaving the blade suspended in the mix.
