Default Jaques Lecoultre frameback 7 blade razor

I've just taken delivery of a Jaques Lecoultre frameback and would like to give it a little cleaning and hone up a couple of the blades.

The 1st blade seem stuck. I've removed the screw but can't get any wiggle on the blade. Any help on how to remove the blade will be appreciated.

What I would is to use some WD-40 oil between the frame and the blade and let it sit for a few hours or a day.
Normally it should come out without using a lot of force.

That's what I thought. I did use some choji oil with no luck. I'll try some wd-40.

Choji oil is mostly used for oiling a katana or another Japanese blade, but you will know this already as you have used this kind of oil.
Very nice set by the way.

Yes I use it for my swords and razors. Thanks I hadn't seen a 7 blade set before. I might just use some pre lim surface cleaner and renaissance wax to keep the patina.

I tried several applications of wd-40 and no luck so I'm going to have to find a better penetrating oil available in Australia. If anyone knows where I can get Kroil or pb in Australia please give me a shout.

I've just hit it with some Inox and I will leave it overnight. If that doesn't work I think it will be homebrew time. 50:50 mix ATF and acetone and let it sit in the bath for a day.

I doubt those are plastic scales, but just in case they are acetone will dissolve them so be careful not to get any on the scales.

No they are ebony. I will only drop the length of the blade in toe first, leaving the blade suspended in the mix.

Ok it worked. I suspended the razor toe down into a jam jar and covered it with cling film to stop evaporation. I left the razor in for 3 days and every now and then shook it a little as the acetone and ATF separate. With a little wiggle from a pair of pillars the blade came free. I had wrapped the blade with some paper towel so that the pliers did not contact the blade directly.
