    Question newbie geometry question

    im a knife hobby knife maker im ready to start my first Japanese western style razor can someone tell me how to make a wade grind with a hollow grind like these im using 1095 1/4 thick x 1" steel Name:  CrossSection.jpg

    That's not the 'belly'. What your schematics shows is a single grind, a belly is formed when you have double concave grind. See The straight razor - Straight Razor Place Library
    There are photographs of actual razors so you can see the real dimensions and scale.

    My guess would be do the small hollow with about a 3" or 4" wheel, and the big hollow with an 8" or 10" to get a grind like is in the picture on an 8/8s blade. It would take a bit of trail and error to get it the way you want it.
