Thanks for the quick replies gents
I will give the Rubber Cement a try as that is reasonably well priced.
Now to find a way to get the shaping just right
Once I get the project (DD Goldedge restore) sorted it will appear in show and tell.RickyB

+1 on the rubber cement. Holds just fine and very easy to remove. Gently glide an exacto between the pieces to separate them, then rub the cement off with your thumb.

I put masking tape between the double sided tape and the scale material.

Thanked: 13249I you decide to try the Rubber Cement be sure to follow the actual instructions, the two pieces must be tacky before setting them together or it WILL take days for the bond to hold..

I think Baxxer's masking tape to make the double sided tape easy to peel off is a great idea & will definitely give it a go with some acrylic & horn in the next couple of weeks
Saved,
to shave another day.

Thanked: 1185There lots of kinds of double sided tape and I just got some Scotch to try. I think I saw Charlie using it. Anyway when I apply the tape I stick it to my levi's ,hands, bench top, what ever. Contaminate the sticky 'till it ain't so sticky. Peels right off when I'm done.
I never would have thought rubber cement until you suggested it. I have used that on leather for a long time and if you do it right it's not going to come apart easy at all.Last edited by 10Pups; 03-30-2014 at 01:23 AM.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
