    Got 2 15lbs tusks but I am keeping them for something special

    No Jim, the yearlings lose the tusks just like kids lose teeth you can just go out in the bush and pick them off the ground.
    Biggest I ever had was 90lbs,world record (which I have seen in person) is 220 Kg for the pair.

    Wow, didn't know that Bill. Curious, what would a full grown tusk measure out to in length, and what would it weigh ........ on average ?

    Is no average but 70/100 lbs was the norm back in the days of big game hunting,They did not live that long,esp after Getting a .505 Gibbs express in the brainbox.

    I've read and re-read African Rifles And Cartridges, by John 'Pondoro' Taylor many times. Quite a book about the old pre-WWII days of ivory hunting in Africa. Not a hunter myself tho.
