Case Red Imp scales are made of bakelite with the carbon removed in order to add pigments (red). Otherwise, they would be black. The removal of the carbon content caused them to shrink and warp!
Soak them in 3M silicone, tighten the pins, sand the wedge flush with the scales. Then, take a hacksaw blade to the inside of the white wedge in order to make the blade fit. Soak them again in the silicone. If that does not work, get the scales replicated in something red. They need to be red! JMHO

See I didn't think they were celluloid but was to inexperienced to be sure of it. Damn. Guess I'll save the maple scales for another fixer upper. [emoji57] unless I do like a candy apple translucent stain. Like a pigmented lacquer and engrave the original case red imp handle logo? That would be bad ass.

Something red for sure. Maple Imp just doesn't sound right.

Am I missing the occult of the imp? I thought there was supposed to be some creativity in restoring razors? So the next time someone restores an old wade and butcher everyone needs to scream for them to make sure they use cow horn?

I will say this. A non red scale on something with red in the name would be bs. But.... I like custom.

I have a company called tru grit abrasives about a mile from my house that sells scale materials. Everything from burl woods and bone to carbon fiber and acrylics. I may pop in there.
