Any woodworkrs/carpenters un UK could you help me?
Hi there
I have currently bought some stropping paste for the first time to experiment on, currently I'm just applying it to a bits of clean leather left over from time I have been making my own strop. To strop I usually just put the piece of leather on one of my hones and it works ok, however I want something dedicated for the pastes. I have been in for a hunt for piece of oak which I could use to make paddle strop/ bench strop but I was unsuccessful. I don't rally have any wood working tools so I cant just buy a 2x4x12 hunk of timber. I was wondering would anyone could cut me a piece of oak 2.5x1x12 on a band saw. I will cover the cost for material, postage and labour or I could possibly hone a razor or two in return. If anyone could help please either post here or PM me.
Regards Rafal

Not any that I know about, checked the home depot website and directs to US one, so I doubt. We have places like BnQ however they don't sell oak in dimensions I require, actually they don't sell any oak. I tried to look for some places around where I live but can find anything thus the thread

That could work, if I have some time in weekend I might go to BnQ and try select something really flat, as well is there any recommendation on what glue shall I use. I will be using leather from strop I made couple of month back which I nicked a little on edges, so I though that would be a good time to change leather on my strop
