    Excuse. Me for butting in gentlemen but I came across. A tip about wooden scales and the pivot point. If we drill the hole in the material. 50% bigger than the wire diameter that relieves the stress when peening. I don't know if you chaps have come across. This. But it works. For me:-)

    Good point...
    The hole was drilled bigger though.
    I think it was a matter of it being too thin width wise and me not cutting the pin short enough.

    I should have listened to myself when I said this will work if......
    Never Ever do that! Shortcuts lead to disaster!

    Live and learn I guess... Good thing is it reminded me to be more careful and not rush stuff!
