Thanked: 284Good luck - will be following your work here. Maybe do a search for horn scale repair - there are some good posts. I've had good luck with grinding up some parent material into CA or other glue but that was for wood. I've got cracks in that one I'm doing now too so I'm in the same boat. But gonna try and repair them.
I love living in the past...

Naturally it's your call, and maybe I'm misreading the pictures, but with the way the heel of that blade looks, I wouldn't put the effort into restoring it. Seems like the blade has been worn quite close to the stabilizer and the taper of the blade from toe to heel looks off, and it's been my experience that you usually have to hone into it a fair bit to get the bevel properly set.

Thanked: 1184Ca glue the crack and Epoxy the pits. The thing is , if you learn to repair them, then 1 day when you pick up 1 with pressed scales and nice art work you can save it. If you don't succeed what have you lost ? Nothing, just learned more for next try :<0)
Like H4P says, you got some work cut for ya fixing that blade.Last edited by 10Pups; 06-25-2014 at 12:50 AM.

no argument. there the taper is about a 1/16th between heel and toe. and it is honed right up to the stabilizer.
maybe I'm crazy but I figured I could just relax the stabilizer and maybe reshape the heel to put my bevel out on front of the shoulder instead of right below it.
