Default First Damascus Razor 8/8 3 pin french tip random pattern with deer antler scales

    Lots of pictures...
I just finished my first Hand made Damascus razor.

    Equipment was basic,
A cheap anvil from Harbor freight (which I broke in the process)

    An 8 inch grinder,

a propane and a map gas torch, and a hollowed out fire brick forge.

    Steel is 15N20, amd 1095

    Grind is 1/4 hollow

I made the scales out of deer antler, and the pins are nickel-silver

If it shaves as good as it looks, you scored!
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

I use MAP gas or propane bottles with a small crucible with a hole at the bottom for my forge but just about everything else is the same. I need a bigger anvil than the 15lb one I bought at HF. Good looking razor, I too want to know how it shaves.

It has enough mass that it glides through the toughest hairs, and it is extremely smooth

I'm debating if I should try to push her for sharper, or keep her where she is, glassy smooth

That's huge, impressive. When I try to imagine a guy shaving with it, I get an image of a guy like Paul Bunyan with a full dense black beard. After shaving, he could use the razor to chop logs.

The spine is 1/4 inch, and edge is 17/16

shallow ground and inflexible it is almost a wedge
