While this video is in German, it will show how DOVO makes a razor, it's only the basic steps but will also show how DOVO 'Hand Peens' the razors at the factory and it's nothing like anything that those of us do.

I think you can adjust the amount of pressure applied when using this tool to apply aircraft rivets if not adjusted properly the rivet head looks fine but after inspection the rivet is not tight and must be removed and replaced so set it to apply enough pressure to peen the head and not expand the actual shaft.

You can adjust the pressure on them so that the rivets float - I've made that mistake a bunch of times - but if the rivet is floating then the blade and scales can float around too. I guess if you played around with it enough you could get it to work. I'm sure how repeatable it would be.

It will simply take a few times of Peening pins on different materials to realize why they are done the way they are

I say do it the good old fashioned way. I would be afraid of breaking scales!
