Thanked: 16Replacement rubber tang grip on a Fili?
Recently picked up my first Fili and after cleaning and buffing the beautiful blue scales, I noticed that it originally had a rubber sleeve on the tang. Has anyone found or came up with a decent replacement?

If you want it to look as good as the originals did, I think your best bet would be to hunt down a broken EPBD and cannibalize it for the grip.

I made a replacement for my Puma from a product called Sugru. It has a work time of about 30 minutes before setting and you can sand it down once it has set overnight.
I started by rolling out a small piece with a pencil to get it at about the right thickness, cut it to size and then moulded it in place. I added ridges with the side of a steel rule to mimic the original. Once set, I used a fine paper to sand it down and the end result is excellent. My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Here is a homemade alternative to the Sugru that was talked about:
How To Make Your Own Sugru Substitute
Anyone willing to try it out and let us know the results?
