    Default Puma wedge missing?

    At first glance I thought everything was normal. Then I noticed the wedge was missing and replaced with a center pin piece. The pins all look to be original. Was this some kind of a fix someone did a long time ago? I'm giving serious consideration to making a wedge and re-pinning the whole razor. This is my 1st Puma BTW.
    Thoughts anyone

    Probably original to the razor ......... see this thread for more examples ;

    I would really love the opportunity to look at the pins on one of them,,,

    Some of us are very very good at making things look original, but normally we can tell if then have been changed..

    Yes, I have seen that on other razors but not a Puma before. I would think it is original like Jimmy. It is different and kind of neat really. Nice find.

    Just in thinking about it, maybe, just maybe they were banging out their razors and ran out of wedges that day. They had plenty of center pins, didn't want to delay production to wait for the batch of wedges, and nobody cared about stuff like that back then. I mean, who would have thought guys like us would be obsessing over the razors they were supplying to the barbering trade ?

    Glen, the 3 pins, both sides, are absolutely identical, and obviously professionally done. I'd bet the razor against a donut that it is factory original. Plus, the one Joed had was also a Puma duck with the same color 3 pin scales.

    I can guess that since the spacer on the end seems larger than the center one and it makes the scales quite wide down there that the razor could possibly have come with a comb guard which clipped on the blade. This would have allowed the razor to close with the comb on it?

    A great find, I would leave it as is. A rare item if it is factory original.
