+1. Thankfully the scales were cheap anyway...
Smarter than I look or, not as dumb as I look. Whichever you prefer.

I shaved with it using only one hand. Went to the DE until the hand recovered. I learned I do not like shaving with a SR using one hand.

Some good things to keep in mind brought up so far.

Don't ask me how I know this coz I don't want to have to lie to keep face LOLbut I have it from a very reliable source that it is true and will happen in the blink of an eye.
I haven't done much buffing, but 'vice like' is a good description of the grip I used. Thankfully I haven't had that happen yet.

Now I only handle one at a time......
Haven't had that problem (carrying a lot of razors around), but I will definitely remember that.

rushing too much to get the pins out- snapped the scales while trying to use them to lever off the washer

trying to straighten a bent tang with the three nail method - snapped the razor

going to a too low a grit - it takes far too long to get the scratches out

dont lend gear if you dont wan to spend time fixing others mistakes

do your work over carpet - if its dropped its so much less likely to chip!

start on small projects first work up to large.

    i've made lots of mistakes.....

ps. don't struggle too long on if something isn't working - ask here! people with far more experience will help!!

Done a few of these. Wife could not understand why I wanted carpet around my bench in the garage.

I've learned a lot from most of my mistakes, and even more by reading about mistakes members of the forum have made and the advice they get on correcting them!

I have a friend who sometimes relates;" I told the truth. She lied!" Then you ask why/what?

He says; "I said I was a drunk. She said she wasn't a pig"!

    Not related, I suppose!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
    I rest my case.

The mistake I learned the most from was don't be distracted by the wife who wants to talk to you while you are trying to shave. You will most likely cut yourself as I did. Twice! Ouch!
