I got some Ø6" 3k, 4k & 5k 3-5mm thick foam type sanding disks from the local paint suppliers these work great & flexible too
i got a box of 10 or 12 was about $20 for each grit type if I remember right
I cut them into strips & squares as required also they last very well

i'll try remember to take a photo of the ones I have over the weekend if you want as I don't get home from Mt Isa till tonight

Those discs are great after 2k wetndri same as Micromesh tho a little spongier. And Micromesh is a bit trickier to work out the grit ratings.

Chromium oxide on a buffer wheel. That is the green polishing compound you can get in any decent hardware store.

The sandpaper man doesn't have any. Is there anywhere else you know. I cant find much on google and what I can is pretty expensive. Is micro mesh pretty good and last well. I could get a couple of sheets but unless it lasted well it would be expensive too. I could get another couple of compound bars and some polishing heads for about 30 - 35 bucks which would last quite some time.

Auto shops are more likely to have the round sanding pads & yes they ain't cheap.
Micromesh is very durable tho also exe.
Compounds & mops are cheaper & then normal wetndri papers are all you need.
I use the Novus 123 system on scales after 2k wetndri. I only use the finer abrasives on swords or special jobs etc.

Not sure on line as mentioned I got from our local paint supplier (the paint place) had some the other I got From another industrial paint supplier
ive never used micro mesh either
on stell I use the Chrox, Ferrox & auto sol on the buff usually and a
only use the foam disks when I am going to hand polish scale materials or want a satin finish on steel ( when used with WD40)
