Thanks outback you have me a good tip to read up on knots... very good. I plan on doing some wrapping and this is a really good focus..
That's a score! I don't have any turtle shell, I'd really like to see your progress and process as you work on those scales.. great idea for the backing too!
With the blade, I would start at a 1000 grit to see.. though you may have to drop down in grit if the progress is too little.. doesn't look like that blade needs too much work though.

Honestly are they worth it.
None have been honed, one from the seven day set has a small crack in the blade near the toe. Most of scales need re flattening. Blades are good. No rust or pitting. Just some cleaning.
