Do they slide together to make a little grinding safety "wall"?

Think those are partitions for a bigger storage box, if you have it. Some Dremel assortment box.
I got the same things in a few kits.
Damn this crap!!!
I have a big ball of waxed string that is about the same as the real Kamisori I showed. Maybe that would be good to use.

The diameter of the string is around 0.87mm w/o smashing it in my digital vernier caliper. The diameter is actually a tad larger than on my Kamisori.
I've been dealing with the crap throughout the day. I just came to see what was here & I saw that Tom was thinking of wrapping it. I have seen where a friend of mine got a Japanese Kamisori & he unwrapped the thread. To his surprise, they used something else like some thin pieces of bamboo toothpick size & then wrapped it but he said he found rust on the tang so he re-wrapped it I believe. What if Tom, you were to use JB Weld or something like they did with black tape to hold it together, then use some of this black waxed thread I have to wrap around the black tape? It wouldn't show.
For my John Barber, I have different ideers!
Yes that the wax string i was thinking, its great for many uses. The bamboo inside, I remember seeing that too.
I'm not sure which would be more work, but after gooping on the JB Weld it can be sanded to make just right. I don't see the use in the tape though.
You gonna study up on some clever Japanese hidden knot work Tom?
I'm feeling left out, got a big b.j. Eyre & Co. FBU with a broken toe... instead of a shorty... Eyresori??? :D
Edit:
I was thinking I would put a exotic wood tang cover on both sides of the Eyresori..
That sounds awesome MikeT. We all just about have some Kami's in the works except mine won't see any action until I am feeling better. I'm afraid if I start doing things while under the weather, especially that, I might screw it up. I did finish Gloria but she was just almost done & I couldn't screw that up unless I slipped with my ball peen & cracked the bone scales I made.
The black tape was just a suggestion but he can use his head for that. Tom is always coming up with different ideas like all of us so I'm sure he will figure a way to do it but if he wants any of this string, I have plenty. It's about the size of a baseball so there's a lot there!
I guess mine will be called a Barbersori!
Got plenty of grinding done, MikeT! Did ok on the stabilizer issue, I suppose. Wish I had a belt grinder and could use one.
My shoulder lines are not as even and crisp as I would like.
Anyhoo, saved the tang stamp with exception of the 's' on sons, I think?
Pretty happy how it turned out. Another trip to the welder and still have a divot on the back side. Oh well...
It's like that pit you cannot get out. :rofl2:
Some more fine hand-sanding and buff. It is what it is! Feels good in the hand, though.
Gonna hone it tomorrow and use it on my Sunday SOTD, with your permission of course!
They might get a kick out of it? :roflmao
