I am also the proud recipient of a magnetic brush. The first thing I did with it was stick it on the medicine cabinet frame. BAM! I recently travelled to NYC and brought my stove in boar for a brush...no way I'm going to pack a brush holder to dry, so I jerryrigged something. Now, thanks to outback Mike...I have the perfect travel brush with built in brush holder!
The one who really deserves the thanks on the brush , would have to go to the original designer.

Ps. Dont get to close to your razors with it guys ..... It "WILL " grab it up off the table, stand , anything within 4". Especially magnetic steel razors
Now you tell me...setting up a pic this AM with the Double Mike brush and suddenly BANG...and the Big Filly was stuck to the magnet...luckily spine side..funny thing is at first I didn't have a clue what happened...'hey, WTF, my razor is stuck to my brush handle :oQuote:

Something different for me: a potential project.
I was dumpster diving for the last time in awhile and dug up this razor. The vendor really has some weak pics on the bay but I knew what the razor was, a Plantagenet razor. I think Tom has one and Neil has posted a really beautiful example of this razor with historical documentation. When I received this razor I immediately made arrangements to send it back. It was already discounted some $40.00 off the original asking price, but the seller offered an additional $20.00 off if I wanted to keep it. Ok it has insane honewear, a ginormous bevel...pits. Still, I am going to see how it will shave (bevel set only so far) and if it is remarkable in any way I might try to spiff it up. Is it worth the effort if it shaves or just keep shaving with an ugly razor...hey, I don't mind having one ugly duckling.

I had one which I gave to Walt Stewart many years ago when he was active here.
Those are heavy wedges and SHOULD have a threaded hole in the middle of the spine to attach a guard.
A couple of layers of tape and hone it up!
