Dental flossies and polish works good, in conjunction with judicious use of the buffer. The GUM ones are the most sturdy.
    Makes you crosseyed!

Too much buffer rounds off the jimps.

    I rest my case.

Are the jimps dirty of rusty?
That would determine how to proceed.
Dirty - Mothers mag polish and a old power toothbrush. good reason to replace your toothbrush head.
Rusty- Bar Keepers Friend and small brass brush. Hobby Lobby was a 5 pack of Dental Picks for under $10.
Steelwool is least invasive but will take longer and you will need patience.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

I use these (very carefully) wire wheels on my dremel to get rid of rust.
