If your just polishing, tape the blade with satin finish scotch tape
( its easier to see for the next step)
Using a razor blade, carefully cut around the etching, then remove the tape around the etching and polish with a rag wrapped around the eraser of a "NEW" #2 pencil, the tape typically wont come up with the polish, but still take caution around the tape edges.
