Thanked: 1587Water inside scales
Wasn't sure where to post this, but here seems the most appropriate.
My Joseph Rodgers wedges have either bone or ivory scales. One of them has a split in the scale at the pivot pin end (not a crack at the pin - a split in the end of the scale like a flap).
I've noticed that if I'm not careful water gets inside the scale during a shave. Is this a bad thing? If it is, does anyone have any suggestions for fixing it? I thought about super glue - is that good enough?

Thanked: 9Maybe try CA first?
But I would think what you propose would work too

AFAIK...
CA = superglue (ie, the term "super glue" is a trademarked name for the original company's version of cyanoacrylate)... sort of like Kleenix and tissue, or Xerox and copier

Thanked: 9oh - I thought CA is something special (as I know that Bill, Joe, and others use it on scales...)
so how come super glue is used on cuts? isn't it poisonous (the cyano-part worries me)?
Cheers
