So i recently acquired a 1939 vintage puma. The razor is in good condition except for the rubber tang cover was rotted and cracked . Is there any way of replacing it??

    I've wondered about this myself...

I'm sure you could use a heat shrink-able rubber, but that is only speculation, and I odn't know where and what type to get.

Do not think that the loss of the rubber grip is a horrible thing. It seems as though the glue, or what ever they used to keep that in place, causes rusting with time.

I hope someone chimes in with a great idea!!

autozone sell heat shrink tube but it won't go over the blade and would require un pinning

You do not have to remove the pins.

Would the tubing fit over the scales?
If you open the blade so that the scales are in-line with the tang, you could slide it up and onto the tang....

BUT, that is if it fits over the scales...
