Are you still using this setup?
I ended up ordering one from Lee Valley. It's 2" X 3" with a 3/8 shaft. The larger ones from Woodcraft have a 1/2 shaft that won't fit my drill. If I decide to dive deeper into this method I'll get a drill that accepts 1/2". A 2" drum seems like it should get good coverage while still being small enough to get into smaller hollow grinds. Ive been using 2" buffs with greaseless for hollow grinds and I love them. The drum I rigged up is about 1 1/2". I'm getting great results with the 1k and will experiment up to 2500 when the new drum comes in.B.J.

I have been using the sanding drums for over 25 yrs. now . It started with me makonf decoys. Would t be without them. Got them in my drill press, regular drills and flex shaft. Work well right through 1500-2000 grit.

This sounds awesome. I plan on giving this a try using the smaller Lee Valley sanding drum. Thanks for sharing.
