    Default Snagged some straights..

I went on an antique store hunt yesterday (thx outback!) and i pulled the trigger on a few blades.

Listed in order (no marks on back of tangs)..

    Crane Cutlery Co. USA ($15)
    Northfield Cutlery Co. Conn ($15)
Geneva Cutlery Co. Geneva N.Y. ($20)

The blade on the Geneva just catches the inner edge of the scale when closing.

I also noticed (at home) that the Northfield had a flatter spot in the rear half of the blade, and the Geneva looks like it has a bit of a frown.

So what do you guys think? Ill take any advice or opinions on how i did overall as a purchase, what might be wrong with these that i missed, and what needs to be done to fix them up.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Looks like all good buys, check the Geneva for cell rot, warped scales and lite pitting on the blade are indicators, but hard to say from the photos.

I took a few better pics of the blades. They all look like they are in good shape.

I have two Northfield Cutlery faux frameback razors like yours and enjoy shaving with them.

It looks like you chose well. Nice hunting. I love hunting but only get to areas where I can once a year or so.

You know what needs done to clean them up. Its been said before.

Wash um up. (Tooth brush, mean green, 409,liquid soap, somthing like that.)
    Polish um
    Go from there.

I will take it easy on them this time and start sanding at the 320 grit instead of 160...

Just kidding. They will be washed and polished. Then further issues will be addressed.

And being stupid and doing stupid things are two different things. Im not stupid, but oh do I do stupid things sometimes.
