Here is the last picture and while I never really noticed you can see from this perspective the scale on the right is higher. Never noticed before!!!!

If the scale on the right is higher then this is usually a sign that you have a bent twisted pivot pin.

Thanked: 13245You might try just giving it a little twist between your thumbs first The pins are easy to bend back too
Another trick is to simply dip the pivot in boiling water for a few seconds and give the razor a little twist and hold it that way until cool...
The very last option is tearing the razor apart...Last edited by gssixgun; 05-25-2016 at 06:20 PM.

What you do is up to you, how I usually try to fix this on old razors, is to tactically hit the pivot pin
if that fails, I will file down the pin and re-pin.
How I hit the pin is how I learnt it from gssixgun's videos IIRC.
The way I usually do is, I position the tip of the razor on my left hand side and the tail of the razor on my right hand side, and lay the pivot pin on an anvil or another hammer.
Then I look to which direction the razor pulls.
If the razor is closest to the back scale or hitting the back scale, I hit the pivot pin on the bottom, this way the razor will eventually come more towards the front scale.
And vice versa,
If the razor is hitting the front scale, I will hit the pivot pin more on the top, so it will travel more towards the back razor.
after hitting it a couple of times, I open and close the razor a couple of times, this will usually influence the position a bit, followed by a little more tactical peening until the razor centers the way I like it
It usually takes quite a good pounding for me to do so, but I advise everybody to carefully do this; I do hit it a little hard at times though.
But with bent pins, it can be unpredictable sometimes how the razor's position will change and this might not work all the time then
Also, if it needs a lot of adjusting, the pin might get pretty tight though, a little too tight to be good
And as I can see you will have the uneven scale heights, that would probably bother me thoughLast edited by TristanLudlow; 05-25-2016 at 06:53 PM.
