Little confused

The dimpling is often called Picking or Picked you find it most often on old Bone handle pocket knives when it is called Picked -Bone, It is done with a picking Awl, or you can actually dimple the wood by using a hammer and a small Doming Punch

Snakewood is an actual type of wood I cant tell if that is Snakewood from the pics

This is a set I did 6 years ago in Snakewood so you have an idea
