Just ordered Bill's DVD... Now I have questions
Does Bill's DVD suggest handle materials? A custom knife maker I like makes handle material like a Marchita (sp) and wasy currious if that stuff can be used for scales.
The Pic is poor but hopefully not to bad (need to get another pic)
Any comments?

You can use micarta - ask the knifemaking supply places to supply you with 6" long rather than the shorter knife handle stuff.

Nice Butch Harner blades! Thinking of getting some of his handmade stuff for scales?

Those are my knives from him already . I'm sending him the messurments of what the finished scales will be, he's going to see how sturdy his mycarta mix is when cut that thin. They may need a backer material like what bill shows in the scale making blog.
I was thinking that stuff would make some great looking scales.

It's kind of weird but I havent even gotten one of his kitchen knives yet... Of course I've only seen one that wasn't stainless, and I have a mental allergy to stainless kitchen knives
Next time I get the bug to aquire more kitchen knives I'll have to pester him
