I have a wedge but not too happy with it yet. I've thinned the scales to about .115 now. That's much better. As thick as they were the wedge couldn't work. I drilled the punched hole a bit so it is more aligned then bushed it so the pin would stay square. Not much luck there. I super glued it to stay at the correct angle. It might not be right yet.
I'll have to ponder how I'd have to reshape the scale to make it work. I'm not seeing how it would need to be to engage the scale at the taper and still center the blade. I guess it doesn't need to friction at the pivot is what holds it closed. A tapered washer might work. Not a fan of washers generally unless thin.

Looks like it's gunna work! I took a thin brass washer and filled thin on one side. CA glued it to one side of the scale. It closes now without hitting. Woot

Nicely done, that looks like it's working much better!
