Thanked: 13249Look at the scales
That small amount that is past the pivot pin..
If they are curved inward, and touch the tang during rotation this will cause uneven tension
This spot
actually just looking through that gap will tell you quite a bit about contact points, simp[ly hold the razor up and observe the rotation from the top and bottom of the razor with a bright light behind the pivot and look for contact pointsLast edited by gssixgun; 08-15-2016 at 09:58 PM.

Thanked: 4830I think Glen and Outback Mike are both on the thoughts I was having. The size and taper of the wedge in relationship to the taper on the tang of the razor is what makes the sales flex and move to give fluid tension on the pivot of the razor as it moves through it's rotation. Glen's point that if the part of the scales sticking past the pivot not being straight also having an effect on the tension.
Short answer. If you look at the end and everything looks ok check the wedge. The length of the spacer at the third pin should be the same as the fat end of the wedge or the thick part of the tang. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
