To give you guys an idea of my work today on my "tarnished beauty", I removed active rust with 0000 steel wool, but kept the tarnish. Washed 'er with dawn and threw it in a set of manufactured replacement scales that I think are bakelite, using a brass nut and bolt. I started on the 1k at 230/3 and just left for a brake 15 minutes ago. There were 3 bevels I had to get through and serious heel chips. Hoping to get this bad boy a nice bevel tonight. Btw, all that was with 2 layers of tape. No pictures, just to annoy Hirlau

Man, outback! Your Waterville has seen better days?
And 'Tuzi! As I look at that crusty thing, all I can see is how lovely it shall be as you restore it.
I reckon you got the bevel going first this time?
Mine shaves so good, I may well just let it be.

The cool thing about the waterville is, there's only a few teeny weeny pits in it,
Its all patina, all original.
There is a water etch on the b side of the blade, but not rusty, or pitted. I'll post pics of it tonight after work.
BTW. It shaves like the Wosty ,on loan.Mike
