That looks great. I really like the lines along the spine into the tang. I nice gentle flow.

I too am in the process of attempting to make my first straight. If mine turns out half as nice as yours. It will be a total success.

    Keep up the great work.

The scales issues (wedge/spacer) are easily corrected. Sorry but you did not really leave me much for areas for constructive criticism.
    I'm with you RezDog.
The tang and tail are too thick, (chunky) they could be thinned and tapered more in relation to the blade.

But still a fine lookin piece [emoji106]

Great first job, it's much better looking than my first razor.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I don't have a small wheel for my grinder so I was having a hard time getting
the inside curve on the tail the way I wanted it. The next one will be better.

I did taper the tang in thickness with the intention of using a wedge instead of a spacer, when I pulled the ends together
one side would bend farther than the other and I couldn't get the blade to center.
I still haven't figured out why that was happening, I finally gave up and went with a spacer. Maybe one side was thinner
or just weaker than the other.

I started on my first one. Cut the scales.and sanded, sent the blade off for honning after i derusted.it and polished, stained the scales.as they were wood, oops. Now i cant see any wood grain. Too dark. I'll have to start over. Well, i know i can cut out scales.

Nice job. I hope my first turns out half as good as yours.
    It's just Sharpening, right?
