Impressive,, I see what ya did there..
:rofl2::rofl2:
Thanks gents.
So, as is in life, set backs always happen.
Followed the instructions on the molding silicon mix. Even opted not to try fractioning the tub,, used it all to ensure the right ratio of catalyst to base.
Gave it twice the cure time as indicated on the package, opened up the mold, and it was an under done cake of silicon rubber.

Got myself a $40 silicon ashtray now, hehehe.
So start over, split the molds in case the volume was working against me and try again. This time with harder duro rubber.

Left the individual molds under vacuum for twenty minutes each to ensure zero trapped air.

And I will leave these 24 hours before even thinking about opening them up.
The first stuff was called quick set mold, and I did not have any success with it.
Live and learn and try again.

Yeah, that's more the thing!

Good coverage of the features I want cast with out the seam in the way and it's all trimming up nicely before pouring the other halves.

Maybe the quick set reacted badly with the clay, or maybe it was just a bad batch. Either way, I'm getting psyched this is gonna work out well after all.
:tu
Wonderful!! I am happy that the latest batch has given good results!
Keep on keepin' on!

Nice, this time looks more successful. I like that you share about the setbacks too. Good work Mike!
I am pretty excited watching this. Sorry for the set back, but stoked to see it moving ahead.
I am guessing that there are some awesome cast brushes on the horizon. I can't wait to see what comes out after the moulds are filled.
Amen!
I have few setbacks on razors anymore because I stick to what I know and am too lazy to do what Mike does.
A man of action! He has been a great influence on me as most of you have.
We always need to be working on something!
I just could not imagine taking on the things Mike does! Fun to see! :bow
That's why he's been branded.
