Still have a bunch more exacto trimming to do around the pour area, but the profiles look promising..
Maybe I can get a couple poured before the gtg Sunday..

I do so love the challenges gents!. Thanks again for the encouragement.
Prototype pours in copper and pearl on white base urethane aren't perfect, but show me what I need to clean up in the molds.

Stuff sets up in under 5 minutes so can't be cast under pressure, hence an air bubble or two can ruin the cast.
Attachment 271461
Mold cavity cleanliness will need to be absolute as well to ensure perfect results, especially if/when I make transparent castings.

But hey, as I've said before on other first goes, these are the worst two of these I've ever made, hehe.

Need to order smaller dia knots. Everything I have is 26mm and bigger.
Scale rubbersets need 24mm max.

Held a 25 mm in place for effect.
Lessons learned on these initial casts, as cool as the brushed metal effect is, you cannot trim it at all or you expose the white undercoat. Maybe mixing the metal dust into the resin like I did with the bullet brushes first, then applying it to the molds will still impart the metal look, and allow for trim work.
Might cast a few more in solid colour to see how they turn out..
Of course, there are urethane friendly paints out there now so really, I could go to town on these even post molding.
Thanks for looking.
Hope this helps out other crafty blokes..
