I absolutely utterly detest the acronym LOL, but in this case it applied for me! Thanks Tim.

I was kinda curious how they would clean up as well so I turned up one of the brushes real quickly tonight.

I still need to polish it up properly to achieve the full transparency of the resin, but not to bad with a two band knot in it..
Really most excited to say there are zero voids, or bubbles in either the resin, or the stabilized burl.
I am comfortable that my pressure and vacuum systems can achieve optical clarity of casting. Yeah..
    Cheers gents.

I'm willing to try most anything at least Tom, think that's the key to any successful venture. But thanks kindly for saying it. Means a lot from guys like you.
Very satisfying to be able to create something from these remnants and otherwise discarded little pieces of tree tumours..
I see loads of applications for this alumilite stuff between these wood blanks, and the bullet brush I made for John etc....
Actually, think I have some wip pictures of that I should add to here.
Wanted it a surprise when he opened it and forgot to add them later.

Thanks amigo, there are cracks in the tusk, but I'm not sure if they'd cause scale failure or what. Mostly just visual I hope. Will use the set I'm keeping for that Turner I guilted Colin into leaving with me last summer, hehehe

I thought it prudent to hot melt the tusk to a heavy piece of ebony prior to trimming. Give me something solid to hold and steer.

Stinky, even with the dust collector going.

They seem solid enough despite the flaw running through all of them. I intend to try to make some scales out of them. And have a bunch of sets for the tusk owner as well.
Cheers and happy new year men. Time to get some drinky after gettin stinky!
Can't believe I didn't see these earlier...wow, those look fantastic.

I remember that, that smokin' hot day at your place for the meet, massively heavy tusk....
