Heavy Stuff - W&B with Cocobolo
This Wade & Butcher was in very poor conditions. The blade was full of rust, so that I had to polished a lot. Unfortunally the W&B mark was gone away.
The handle is near to the original Meatchopper form of W&B.
The wood is a beautiful cocobolo. Blade and Handel are heavy, so the balance is good - but it is a straight razor for real mens

Thx at all. The wood was sanded first with tht Dremel Sanding Drums grit 60 and 120 After that I only sanded by hand. This takes a little more time, but it worth imo.
After grit 600 I use the Soft Pads from MicroMesh up to 12.000. This give the wood nearly a mirror polish.
Normaly I use after this linseed oil or shellac (depending on the wood).
This time I used only a little bit of Balistol (a German Weapons Oil) to protect the wood again humidity. Cocobolo is naturally an oily wood, so that I think, more is in this case not necessary. Linssed oil woud make the wood a little bit darker, what I dont wanted in this time.
