    Default Waste of time?

What do you think? Worth the trouble? I don't have it in hand yet and don't even know the grind. Hoping it is a quarter or half hollow because there looks like quite a bit of pitting.

I would first see if it will hold an edge. That chip worries me.

If the metal is OK then fix it up.

Check it over with a magnifier, especially the edge. I bet it is salvageable.

Just to possibly make things easier I would inclined to breadknife then set a bevel.

Pretty solid advice see about an edge then proceed. No worries leaving some character too

Yeah...looking forward to getting it in. Looks like someone put some heavy grit to it. That weird toe grind worries me as well. Might have to make it a full hollow to fix that spine Going to do the hornoxy method to fix the scales. Pretty excited about getting this 130 year old girl back to life and cutting scruff. Maybe I will posts pics along the way to show the progression.
