Europeen seller for a new bench buffer
hi folks,
last month i bought a new buffer machine from Germany to have a better work on my blades. i received it with a defection, the wheels don't turn at all and there was a separation between the left side and the main body.
here a pic,
i contacted to seller, sent few pictures and a video to prouve it. i had not any news from the seller so i returned the machine back. meanwhile i commanded an other machine to not wait so long time between the reception of the returned machine by the seller and they check up for defects. waited 3 or 4 days and my second command was still waiting to be shipped, so i called the costumer service and the suprise; no one talks english, just a guy who talks a little bit. i tried to explain my problem with the machine and asked if they took a look of the pictures and video. not any video or pictures are received according to seller (i send them few times to contact form on their website and also i sent them to mail box of the costumer service).
well i thought this was not big deal, i can wait while they check what's wrong with the first machine so i asked them about my second command and the date for shipping. they told me they won't send a second buffer until they receive the first one and check it.
WTF?
i paid for a second one , normally they should send a new machine while they check up the first one. i don't know if i'm wrong but what do you think ? that's not professionnal ! i mean even if they repaire the first one, they can still send the 2nd fast enough and the 1st one once it's repaired.
i was nervous and i asked for a total refund for 2 of them.
now i'm looking for a Europeen source/seller to have a buffer. i looked for it for last two days but found nothing. i'd like to ask you guys if you know any trustfull seller where i can command one.

hope so. i will appreciate if anyone has informations to share.
otherwise an other question; do you think (for example) if a bench grinder 1 kW will be less powerfull then a bench buffer of the same power (1 kw) to work on metal polish ? as they (bench grinder and bench buffer) have different shape, i'm not sure if a grinder would make the same work as a bench buffer of same power.

I don't know a supplier to recommend and was thinking how to get one.
Auto body shops use buffers. I would think cabinet makers do as well. You could stop by 2-3 and ask who their source is for buffers and whether they have worked well.
Also, this isn't a recommendation, though I found these search results on Europages:
buffer | companies
I noticed that they have four suppliers in France:

Thanked: 3215I have 3 buffers, a used Baldor, a purchased new, Harbor Freight, Chinese made, and a purchased well used no name Twain made buffer.
They all produce the same results, though the Baldor runs slower. All have been well used for years without any problems. I paid $2 for the Twain, 30 or 40 for the Baldor and 30 for the Harbor Freight.
A buffer is different than a grinder, you don’t need a lot of horse power, My Baldor is 1/2 horse as it the H.
Buffers have longer shafts and thinner housings for clearance of, long/wide items. That clearance is for safety and comfort. Especially if you will be using smaller wheel, which you should,(to slow the wheel speed down). I use 4 inch wheels on all my buffers.
Many have used grinders with extended shafts, but if you are buying new, I would buy buffer, designed for the job.
Buffing straight razors is dangerous, take every precaution and use every advantage to make the job as safe as possible.Last edited by Euclid440; 05-29-2017 at 03:36 PM.
