Thanked: 3795Gently strop it and see if it scratches your leather. If you does, then you will have to modify it if there is any hope to use it. On the other hand, if it does not scratch your strop, it MIGHT be safe to use for shaving. I have at least a dozen cracked razors that I shave with and none of them ever have bitten me.
Of course, if you choose to do this, it is at your own peril.
In other words, don't blame me if you get a different result.

Thanked: 433I'm afraid the value will be very low with a crack. I personally would never sell a cracked blade just for the fact it could cut somebody

Personally I think a cracked blade is value less.
Keep it and use it is y your only real option.

Thanked: 3795I too would never sell a cracked razor. The photo did not show the location of the crack. Could you please either describe the location or better yet show a photo of it?
By the way, I use permanent marker on my cracked blades to flag the cracks. Their aesthetics already are ruined and as I said, I don't sell them, so the mark is there just to remind me of the crack.

Thanked: 634I have this W & B with a crack in the blade. Picked it up very cheap. Took a chance. Put flux on both sides, and a piece of silver solder on top. Wrapped the blade in wet paper towels. Passed it over a propane torch waiting between each pass a second or two until solder melted. Let it cool and a lot of sanding to remove excess solder. Blade did not discoloration from heat. Don't know if temper changed but I have used this razor for 3 or 4 months with no problem. Maybe I'm just lucky.

What have I done with the couple of cracked blades I have acquired? Its a simple 2 step process;
1.) Clamp blade in vise
2.) Hit blade with hammer
