01 8/8 Abalone scales
man, this came out soooo nice i had to share! so i got this abalone from masecraft, its the alvs stuff, it came with a pretty nice finish so i tried to keep that the best i could but putting painters tape on it then contouring where i had to... that actually worked out pretty well!
So on my last thread i had max ask me about the thickness of my bevels so i thought i would snap a picture to show it, they are pretty thin and even, it does get thicker by the heel but not by much. If i chase it then i end up chasing my tail fixing other small bumps in the road i have so i tend to get it looking as nice as i can then stopping... if i kept going the material just becomes way too thin... i am hoping that one day i dont have that 2" faset when im working on the heel but ill be patient and give it some time. i was going to put the other bevel on the shoulder so it fits in the scales better but i didnt have that issue with this razor, the scales didnt hit it or some close so i left it alone...
thanks guys

Very nice looking. love the scales. Curious about the placement of the bottom pin, is that just for looks?
How does it shave?

thanks for all the kind words! im the kind of guy to admit mistakes so that bottom pin was actually a slip up on my part... (i know rookie move) im not going to be working that tired anymore lol
she shaves like a dream! i actually made a shave video on it, it just glides though the hair.
thanks! i appreciate that!
i used a black g10 wedge... you know i need to find more wedge materials.. before i was the same type of wood from the scales, but now i need more materials...

Just install a second pin next to the other equal distance from the other edge so it looks balanced.
And just remember if it ain't ever been done before that just means it has but didn't work, that's why no ones seen it. Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”
