    I'm not finishing it at all-it's just .118 black glossy acrylic stock; going to leave as is after removing tape; that's the biggest reason I want to keep epoxy off of it (plus the drips-afraid of melting acrylic if I try to belt-sand those off!).

    Tape will probably work fine, but what would a coat of wax before taping hurt.
