Thanked: 3228Someone once told me if you ever bed a rifle and forget to use the release agent just chuck it in the deep freezer. Once frozen remove, let warm up and rap the action with a rubber mallet to release it. Repeat the cycle till it does let go because the alternative is unthinkable. Never had to use it but I guess from this little episode it just might have worked.
I was still stuck with the epoxy stuck inside the tang cover and Mike has said acetone might soften epoxy up. The only acetone in the house was the old boot's nail polish remover so I used that and it worked too. I'm telling you it is hard sitting on all those horse shoes but we are getting used to it.

Bob, Good to see that you've gotten over this tiny bump in the road and are back on track.
If it were me I probably would have let it be.

Thanked: 3228Made a little progress today. Got the scales pinned at the wedge. PITA it was too. Taking a chance and not using any liners on the scales. Pretty rough work on the repairs but she was never going to be a show piece. Just hoping to get it back in service.
