    I have a few of them that William Heckathorn made for me a decade or so ago. Great things!

    Then, as complaining to Tarkus (Darl) about the residual magnetism, he sent me this demagnifier.

    I have a strip of masking tape across it now.
    Turn it on, three swipes of the spine across the tape and it will no longer want to cuddle your other blades.

    Trust me............

    I looked on fleabay a while back. They can be had reasonably.

    I'm still on the fence about building one of these jigs for myself. I get great functionality from my thigh (clothed) as a work surface.

    But for those that pick up a magnetic hold on their razor, the small tool demagnetizer meant for screwdrivers & such should do the trick. And for only $3 at the local big box hardware store!

    Sorry, but don't kid yourself! That may demagnetize a straight pin. Tossed one the other day.

    Razors off of those strong magnets are way stronger than the ones in that device. JMHO

    Huh... fair enough. I don't have first hand experience with these demag'ers. $3 still isn't bad.
